Who We Are…

Hi there, I’m Helen, owner and day-to-day walker at Happy Days Dog Adventures.

As the name suggests our adventures are centred around the happiness and wellbeing of every dog who joins our walks. As a dog owner myself, I know exactly how important that is. My cocker spaniel Frank joins me on many group walks and I know a walk is not just exercise for him, it’s about adventure, enrichment, exploring, sniffing and the freedom to enjoy being a dog! Plus, like most dogs, it’s his favourite time of the day.

I haven’t always been a dog walker. Before starting Happy Days Dog Adventures, I had another life entirely, working in the music industry in London, and for five years, in Los Angeles. Back then, I only wore wellies to festivals, unlike these days when I wear them most days!

Working in the music business gave me a wealth of valuable skills that I now bring to my dog walking business, including trust, discretion, attention to detail, and taking care of VIPs. And these days, every dog in my care is a VIP!

When I’m not out walking, I’m often found studying dog behaviour. I recently completed The Professional Dog Walker and Sitter Certificate, with distinction, from The British College of Canine Studies. I’m also currently part-way through the Level 3 Professional Diploma in Dog Behaviour, which I’m loving and expect to complete by the end of 2026.

After years in the music biz, I may have swapped artists and festivals for muddy paws and woodland adventures, but I have brought the same care, professionalism and attention to detail with me. And honestly, there’s nowhere I’d rather be than out on a woodland walk, surrounded by happy dogs.

Our walks offer…

ADVENTURE

60 and 90-minute adventures are at the heart of what we offer. Designed for friendly, energetic dogs, they combine exercise with the freedom to explore the countryside.  Each adventure is carefully planned to give dogs the opportunity to run, play, sniff, explore and enjoy appropriate social interaction, ready for a rest afterwards.

ENRICHMENT

Dogs are walked in a range of locations, providing enrichment through new sights, sounds and smells. Sniffing, exploring and digging are all encouraged by Helen. As encouraging natural behaviours provides valuable mental stimulation, helping to reduce boredom, build confidence and support relaxation.

SAFETY

Safety and peace of mind are at the heart of every adventure. All dogs are walked on lead until recall is good enough for off-lead adventures. Plus, all dogs are fitted with GPS trackers, giving owners reassurance while also allowing them to see the route their dog took each day — a lovely insight into their dog’s adventure.
